Tirich Mir Base Camp Trek
Through the remote Tirich valley in Chitral to the base camp of Tirich Mir, at 7,708 m the highest peak of the Hindukush.
The king of the Hindukush
Tirich Mir towers over Chitral town, yet few visitors ever reach its foot. This trek crosses the Zani Pass for a classic view of the mountain, drops into the Tirich valley, and follows it up past summer villages and pastures to the base camp beside the Tirich glacier.
Chitral is a different world from the Karakoram — greener, quieter and very little trekked. We begin with a day in the Kalash valleys, and travel north through the Swat valley and the Lowari tunnel, or fly to Chitral when the weather allows.
