Southern Pakistan Heritage Tour
Down the Indus from Lahore to Karachi — Sufi shrines, desert forts, Moenjodaro and the necropolis of Makli.
Five thousand years along the Indus
This journey follows the Indus plains south through Punjab and Sindh, from Mughal Lahore to the port city of Karachi. On the way are the shrines of the Sufi saints of Multan and Uch, the palaces of Bahawalpur and Derawar Fort on the edge of the Cholistan desert, the 4,500-year-old city of Moenjodaro, and the vast necropolis of Makli at Thatta.
It is a winter tour: from November to March the days are warm and dry, and the evenings cool.
