Overview

A summit with the K-2 trek

Pastore Peak is a mostly non-technical snow climb above the upper Baltoro, with views of K-2, Broad Peak and the Gasherbrums from the top. We add it to the K-2 Base Camp and Gondogoro La trek, so you are already well acclimatized by the time you reach the mountain.

You need good fitness and basic skills with crampons, ice axe and rope. Our climbing guide fixes lines where needed and leads the summit day.

Base camp service

We handle everything up to base camp and back: permits and the liaison officer, the briefing at the Ministry of Tourism, flights, hotels, transport, porters, the base camp cook and kitchen, tents and fuel.

Your team climbs independently above base camp.

For climbers who want a team on the mountain

Full support

Everything in base camp service, plus experienced high-altitude porters, fixed ropes, stocked high camps and oxygen on the 8,000 m peaks.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Days 1 – 11

    To Concordia

    Skardu, Askole and the Baltoro glacier to Concordia, with rest days for acclimatization.

  2. Day 12

    K-2 Base Camp

    A visit to K-2 Base Camp, then on to the camp below Pastore Peak.

  3. Days 13 – 16

    Climbing period

    A high camp and a summit attempt, with spare days for the weather.

  4. Days 17 – 21

    Over the Gondogoro La

    Ali Camp, the Gondogoro La and down to Hushe.

  5. Days 22 – 24

    Skardu & Islamabad

    Fly to Islamabad and onward travel.

Safety on the mountain

Every expedition carries a satellite phone and a full medical kit. Helicopter rescue is arranged in advance, with the bond lodged before you leave Islamabad. Weather forecasts are relayed to base camp throughout the climb.

We have supported expeditions in the Karakoram and Himalaya since the 1980s, from the German Trango Tower expedition to Reinhold Messner on Nanga Parbat in 2000.
