Northern Pakistan Grand Tour
Chitral, the Kalash valleys, the Shandur Pass, Hunza and Skardu — the great valleys of the Hindukush and Karakoram in one journey.
Across the north
This is the most complete overland journey through northern Pakistan. We fly to Chitral and spend time with the Kalash people, then drive over the Shandur Pass — home of the world’s highest polo ground — through the Ghizer valley and Phander to Gilgit.
From Gilgit we travel up the Karakoram Highway into Hunza, then across to Skardu and Shigar in Baltistan before flying back to Islamabad. It is a long trip, but the driving days are broken up with walks, villages and plenty of time in each valley.
