Nangma Valley Trek
A short trek from Kanday near Khaplu into a valley of huge granite walls, often called the Yosemite of Pakistan.
Granite walls above Khaplu
Nangma is a side valley of the Hushe, reached from the village of Kanday. Its meadows are hemmed in by smooth granite towers — Amin Brakk, Shingu Charpa and their neighbours — that draw big-wall climbers from around the world.
Trekkers come for the scenery and the quiet: summer pastures, shepherds’ huts and long days without other groups. The walking is short and the gradients gentle, with a longer day hike toward the foot of Amin Brakk for those who want it. Khaplu, with its restored palace and old mosque, makes a fine base either side of the trek.
