Hunza at its two most beautiful moments — apricot and cherry blossom in spring, and gold poplars and orchards in autumn.
Two seasons in the valley
In early April the terraced orchards of Hunza burst into pink and white blossom against still-snowy peaks. In late October the poplars and apricot trees turn gold and red, and the skies are at their clearest. Both seasons are quieter than summer and ideal for photography.
The tour travels up the Karakoram Highway, with time for the forts of Baltit and Altit, the old lanes of Karimabad and Ganish, Attabad Lake, Passu and the Hussaini suspension bridge, and a day trip to the Khunjerab Pass on the Chinese border when the road is open.

Blossom tour
Apricot, cherry and almond blossom in the villages of central and upper Hunza. Nights are still cool and higher roads may have snow.
Autumn colours tour
Golden poplars, ripe orchards and harvest time in the villages, with crisp days and very clear mountain views.
Day-by-day itinerary
- Day 1
Islamabad
Arrival and a tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
- Day 2
Up the Karakoram Highway
Along the Indus gorge to Chilas.
- Day 3
Into Hunza
Past the meeting point of three mountain ranges and the Rakaposhi viewpoint to Karimabad.
- Day 4
Baltit & Altit
The two old forts, the village lanes and the irrigation channels that feed the orchards.
- Day 5
Nagar & Hopar
Across the river to Nagar and the Hopar glacier.
- Day 6
Upper Hunza
Attabad Lake, Gulmit, Passu and the Hussaini suspension bridge.
- Day 7
Khunjerab Pass
A day trip to the Chinese border, road and weather permitting, and back to Karimabad.
- Days 8 – 9
Back to Islamabad
Two days south by road, with a stop at Taxila.
- Day 10
Departure
Transfer to the airport.
